Gion Manju
This ceremonial manju is offered during the summer Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival. It is a limited seasonal sweet made to pray for health and protection from illness.
Smooth azuki bean paste is wrapped in a sweet *amazake bun dough made with Japanese yam.
Available exclusively at our Fukuoka stores.
*amazeke bun dough features a light, fluffy outer layer with a delicate hint of sake lees (an aromatic byproduct of sake production).
