These charming confections are crafted in the likeness of Doll's Festival decorations. Doll's Festival is one of Japan’s five traditional seasonal festivals. Celebrate the Doll's Festival with these elegant Japanese confections.
(Mebina & Obina)
It is made with a soft, chewy dough steamed white bean paste and wheat flour and filled with kneaded white bean paste, gyuhi (made from glutinous rice flour) and yam.
(Tachibana)
It is steamed yam bun, the dough mixed with yuzu jam, and filled with smooth azuki bean paste
(Hishiyokan)
The white layer is made from a dough mixed with glutinous rice flour and agar, while the pink and green layers are made from yokan (sweet bean jelly).
(Sakura)
The outer layer is a delicate coating made from white bean paste and agar and yam, then finished in a softly crumbled texture, filled with whole azuki bean paste.
Goji berries are placed on top and are edible.
