Akane-gumo refers to clouds that glow a deep reddish hue when lit by the morning or evening sun.
This confection expresses an autumn sky bathed in warm red tones, with yokan (sweet bean jelly) containing dried persimmon topped with a layer of soft, moist dough made with generous amounts of tsukune yam from Kagoshima Prefecture.
